S/CRS Headquarters

S/CRS employees experience extraordinary careers both in our headquarters and around the world. We need intelligent, creative, strategic-thinking, adventurous individuals who can bring their academic knowledge, professional and personal experiences, cultural awareness and appreciation, and dedication to meet the challenges of stabilizing and reconstructing societies and to improving the world in which we live.

Civilian Response Corps

Joining the Civilian Response Corps is about making a difference in people’s lives and seeing the impact all over the world. Currently the United States Government does not have an adequate pool of civilians available to deploy in support of an overseas reconstruction and stabilization mission. The Civilian Response Corps is your opportunity to serve our Government in a civilian capacity and to have a positive impact on the world around you.

Choose the component that interests you:

  • ACTIVE component opportunities
Full-time Government employees whose specific job is to train for, prepare, and staff reconstruction, stabilization and conflict prevention efforts and are able to deploy within 48 hours and focus on critical initial interagency functions such as assessment, planning, management, administrative, logistical, and resource mobilization.

  • STANDBY component opportunities
Current employees of participating federal agencies who have specialized expertise useful in reconstruction and stabilization operations and are available to deploy within 30 days in the event of a reconstruction and/or stabilization operation. Choose your agency:
*Federal Department of Defense employees who would like to participate in similar expeditionary opportunities may be interested in the DoD Civilian Volunteers initiative.

  • RESERVE component opportunities
U.S. citizens who have committed to be available within 45-60 days of call-up to serve as U.S. Government temporary employees in support of overseas reconstruction and stabilization operations. (Please note: Positions in the Reserve component are not yet available as it has not yet been funded.)
