Civilian Response Corps Training Requirements

Civilian Response Corps – Active

Active members are required to take a minimum of eight weeks of training per year. They are considered deployable after completing the orientation courses and pre-deployment security training.

The following outlines training for Active members:

  1. Online Intro to Interagency Reconstruction and Stabilization Operations (PD573) – online
  2. Foundations of Interagency Reconstruction and Stabilization Operations (RS500) – 2 weeks
  3. Security for Non-traditional Operating Environments (SNOE) (OT401) – 3 weeks

Active member considered “deployable”

  1. Whole-of-Government Planning for Reconstruction and Stabilization: Level I – 3 weeks

Active member considered “operationally ready”

  1. Additional annual/specialized training courses

Please Note: If deploying to Afghanistan, additional pre-deployment course are required depending on your assignment. This could include up to three weeks of training in addition to those listed above.

Civilian Response Corps – Standby

Standby members are required to take a minimum of two weeks of annual training per year. They are considered ready to be called up after completing the orientation courses.

Standby members are required to take the following courses:

  1. Online Intro to Interagency Reconstruction and Stabilization Operations (PD573) – online
  2. Foundations of Interagency Reconstruction and Stabilization Operations (RS500) – 2 weeks

If called to deploy, Standby members must take:

  1. Security for Non-traditional Operating Environments (SNOE) (OT401) – 3 weeks
  2. Any required country-specific pre-deployment training

Standby members are required to take two weeks of annual training each subsequent year.

NOTE: To register for training, all Civilian Response Corps members must have the approval of their Response Corps Coordinator or Training and Education System Advisory Coordinator before submitting their application to the USG Interagency Training and Education Division located within S/CRS.
